This tournament is sponsored by Falun Gong.
They brought in all their own judges, and their own competitors-totally stacked the deck, and NY competitors were ripped off.
NY is the Kung-Fu Mecca, it's not like we don't have enough qualified judges-especially in Southern Divisions, and yet they refused to have any of our people judge.
Check out the rules for contestants. You must be at least half-Chinese!
We are looking to boycott this tournament.
Your support is needed.

This past Monday: Decided not to wear my cup...and took a shot to the left testicle.  It brought me down to one knee.  Then my head got knocked back really hard which hurt my neck.  My thumb also got jammed.  I was a mess but it was a lot of fun.

[b]There was this Cannibal walking though the Jungle...

A canniabl was walking through the jungle and came upon a restaurant operated by a fellow cannibal. Feeling somewhat hungry, he sat down and looked over the menu...

Tourist $5.00

Broiled Missionary $10.00

Fried Explorer $15.00

Baked or Grilled Liberal $100.00

The cannibal called the waiter over and asked "Why such a price difference for the Politician?"

The waiter replied, "Have you ever tried to clean one ? They're so full of crap, that it takes all morning."

[b]THE QUICKIE

Dick Cheney and George W. Bush are having breakfast at the White House

An attractive waitress asks Cheney what he would like and he replies " I'd like a bowl of oatmeal and some fruit."

"And what can I get for you Mr. President ?"

George W. looks up from his menu and reples with his trademark wink and slight grin "How about a quickie this morning?"

"Why Mr. President!" the waitress exclaims. " How rude. You're starting to act like President Clinton" and she storms away.

Cheney leans over to Bush and whispers " It's pronounced "quiche" "

As the last attendees left Morris wife Rose turned to her oldest friend Sadie and said "Well I'm sure Morris would be pleased." "I 'm sure your right replied Sadie - but then she lowered her voice and said "Tell me - how much did it really cost ?"

"All of it " said Rose

" No " Sadie exclaimed. "I mean it was very nice - but $50,000?"

Rose nodded. " The funeral was $6500. I donated $500 to the shul for the Rabbi's services. The Shiva food and drinks were another $500. The rest went for the memorial stone."

I think there is always a lull in ppl's training, not to mention that in todays world, things sometimes get in the way.  If I work 60-70 hrs in a  week, i really dont have the time to get down & practice my gung fu & honestly, im quite tired.  Everyone neeeds some time off.  As for "breakthroughs"  I dont think your ever done finding things out.  whether it be a style, your movements or habits, there is always room for improvement.  There is always work to be done, and the only person who can do it, is you.

For the last few years I've felt like my skill increase plateaued(sp?).  When I got into this state I felt like I didn't want to train because the sensation of having learned or gained something new wasn't there to sustain me.  I stuck with it even through boredom and annoyance and now have noticed that my flatlining has spiked a bit.  I've acquired a new interest in kung fu probably due to the fact I started school again and Friday night has been a lot more physical than in past years.

Some of the things I've learned are that:
1. When you get to a certain level you have less and less breakthroughs which you can't depend on for a high anymore.
2. I'll never feel what I did when I first started training and getting a feeling for how I move.  Those days were filled with excitement like finding buried treasure.  I've found all the treasure but now I have to discover its value.
3.There wasn't originally a third but the rule of three in Chinese culture sticks.  There were times when i felt like "taking a break" which means quitting for a lot of people.  I'm glad I stuck with it because then I wouldn't be here to entertain you all.

I've rediscovered the importance of training on my own while at home.  It's been said that 80% of training is done on your own and the rest with partners.  The partner part is something I really find enjoyable as well.  It took a long time for me to get over getting hit.  Hell, no on likes being hit and it becomes easy to avoid subconsciously.  Getting hit is a real blow to how good you think you are and I believe it's an important aspect of training for everyone to go through and endure.  May getting hit in the school help one day in a fight?  Maybe.  I think, more importantly though, that getting hit is learning to endure pressure whether it be pressure at work or pressure your partner is giving you.  There was also a time when i didn't like working with partners who didn't "follow the rules."  I've realized over the years that everyone moves differently and that the rules are very loose.

The boredom that comes may come again one day and I hope I'm strong enough to get past it again.

Not even going to try to organize the above email.

Has anyone experienced similar things recently?  Please share.
